The Music Awareness Parents' Society is a group of music students' parents. We are a society which can fund-raise and promote awareness of music education in our community. Teachers often call on us to help with special events. Meeting once a month allows us to discuss, plan, and vote on the various topics/needs that are brought to our attention. We are looking for one more board member. Current Directors are: President, Deana Halhead; Secretary Treasurer, Irene Sawyer; Vice President, Helena McDonald; Social Committee, Leslie Ball. All positions are one year term. New elections and our general meeting will be held in the spring of 2010. Music teachers from the two schools are ex-oficio board members and our principals offer valuable insight. Being a parent of a music student automatically qualifies you as a member with voting privileges. We welcome you, your questions, and opinions. Join us Tuesday, September 15, 2009, 7pm at Percy Baxter School for our first meeting of this school year. Subsequent meeting are usually the third week of every month.
