Preparing your RV for the summer!
By Amy Hancock
Tips from Curtis Vos at RV Country Try to look past that giant pile of snow that still sits beside your driveway and imagine your bright future. Soon you will be in your RV, fully loaded, and hitting the open road to the world of summer adventure! While you wait for that pesky snow to melt you can start thinking about preparing your RV or trailer for camping season. Curtis Vos from RV Country gave us some pointers to make sure your transition from winter to spring is smoother than our weather has been! There are a few things you can do yourself:
"We have a lot of customers that come in after the winter because they forgot to do something when they were winterizing their RV and need maintenance," said Vos. "That's what we're here for!" RV Country offers a few spring start-up packages that will get you on the road quickly and safely. As most of the accessories and appliances in RV's and trailers use propane, one of the first things they'll recommend is a propane inspection. "We hook up a manometer up to the propane system to see if there is a pressure drop. A drop indicates a leak or a blockage somewhere in the system. For your safety it's important to find that and fix it," shared Vos. RV Country's service department will also check the fittings, sealants, valves and propane lines in your entire system. The last thing you want is to find a leak when you are already set up in the mountains, or find that your stove top doesn't work moments before your dinner time! It's also a good idea to have an overall safety inspection on your appliances, accessories, and water systems. To learn more, or to celebrate the long anticipated season with a brand new RV, visit RV Country at their Open House on April 23rd at 12523 - 60th street, Edmonton. All their new inventory is in and they've marked it lower than ever. Stay hopeful - spring is coming! |
